Working Stage Theater Dramatic Workshop
Acting Technique - Scene Study - New Drama Development with
Artistic Director Frank Megna
About the Dramatic Workshop

Offering a creative environment for the serious artist. A workplace for
in-depth study and exploration of the craft of acting and drama
creation.

The emphasis is on character depth, not on quick results or shortcuts.
Talent is only the starting point. Discipline and the desire to learn and
apply a vocabulary and craft-techniques are equally, if not more,
important.

No career counseling. No "business" training. No tips of the trade. No
secret pathways to stardom hype. The class demands your dedication
and is geared towards the responsibility of the artist to his craft.

Technique exercises, script analysis and structured improvisation will
be taught in addition to scene study. Actors will be encouraged to
develop their own, original material.

Actor, writer and director Frank Megna believes
that the artistic disciplines of acting, writing and
directing are actually different manifestations of
an underlying, organically derived, dramatic
process -- as Stanislavsky theorized.

To understand this is to remove detrimental
ego-conflicts and miscommunications in the
pursuit of our creative work.
"The Emissary" was developed in the
Working Stage Dramatic Workshop.
